If I had to describe my ideal type it would probably go like this: Piercings, tattoos, some short and maybe colored hair and a whole dose of confidence, mostly in the form of snarky remarks. This mostly falls under the label of “Alt Girls” but who really knows what “Alt” even means anymore, after all alternative has become the new mainstream as many people like to say. Whether you call them alt, emo, punk, simply beautiful or even rude, this list takes a look at five AVN characters that (at least partially) fall under this supposed category.
Hana – Pale Carnations
Hana will probably fit the definition that most people hold of what an “Alt Girl” is supposed to be. This bartending punk musician with her fully tattooed arms and raven-black hair quickly won me over despite her initial distance towards the MC in Pale Carnations. Just like with other characters on this list, players will be quick to find out what kind of deep heart hides behind all this ink and snarky remarks.
Ashley – Halfway House
It has been a little while since I last played Halfway House, but Ashley still pops up in my head from time to time. A rough upbringing might have darkened but never vanquished her inner beauty and during the events of Halfway House her and the MC find solace in each other’s similarities and arms. Top those emotional scenes of with a smoking hot, tattooed body, beautiful blue hair and some accentuating piercings and you got another win in my book.
Lisa – Become a Rockstar
To throw you a little curveball this character is not as rude or snarky as the other ones on this list. While she got the looks with her colored hair and pierced face, as well as her grungy music career going on, Lisa is a rather sweet and understanding character. Together with her the MC of Become a Rockstar tries to find his way into the modern music world, and I have seldom seen a more fitting couple.
Athena – Bare Witness
Just like Hana from Pale Carnations this black-haired bartender rides around in the night with her trusted motorcycle (you might guess I have a certain type). Initially she is hesitant to let the MC into her home as a roommate but during the events of Bare Witness they get enough time to get to know each other better, both physically and emotionally. Athena is not only hot as hell but also sweet as sugar, what a killer combination!
Quinn – Being a DIK
We are closing off this list with a banger and probably the most well-known character here. Quinn has her fair share of problems from her involvement in prostitution to her ambitions towards drug dealing, but I would have to call myself a liar if I would say her unique charm did not win me over. This white-haired beauty offers the whole package of looks and crass attitude. But as recent updates have shown, behind all that hard shell might lie a genuine person.
